If your mind is already anticipating a long holiday weekend be that at home or away you might also want to indulge in a few good reads. We've chosen a few of our favourites that both you and your littlies might enjoy:

6 FOR THE ADULTS

A. The little Paris bookshop by Nina George from Whitcoulls

Jean Perdu has a special gift for choosing a book in his ‘floating’ bookshop and fitting it perfectly to the predicament of the person who reads it. A delightfully good read.

B. Big little lies by Liane Moriarty from Whitcoulls

For those who have yet to watch the show (and for those who have). Big Little Lies tells the story of three women who connect after their kids attend the same school. But beneath this simple connection lie mysteries, revelations and rumours that make this book quite hard to put down.

A New York Times #1 bestseller and also named in Oprah’s bookclub this is a story about a brothers journey to come to terms with his past and grow through a lifetime of struggles.

D. The Rosie project by Graeme Simion from Whitcoulls

Uplifting and engaging. The Rosie Project tells the story of Don and his somewhat quirky quest to find a wife using none other than a questionnaire.

E. The one plus one by Jojo Moyes from Whitcoulls

Jess Thomas has two jobs, two kids and never enough money and yet when life knocks her down she does her best to do it all without any help, but what happens when help comes a knocking and  will she know how to accept it?

F. Orphan X by David Baldacci from Whitcoulls

If you like stories with plenty of cliffhangers and moments that have you on the edge of your seat than you’ll love Orphan X, aptly summed up as an outrageously good thriller.

6 FOR THE KIDS

A. Beauty and the Beast by Elizabeth Rudnick from Whitcoulls

A tale as old as time and yet here we are in 2017 and Beauty and the Beast is still proving to be just as mesmerising now as it was way back then.

Jack’s grandpa is his inspiration and partner in crime. Follow their amazing tale as they journey through London with plenty of laughs, close encounters and heart-stoppingly good adventures.

C. Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy from Whitcoulls

Follow the adventures of Skulduggery Pleasant, the skeleton detective and spellbinding magician in his quest to stop the evil adept Nefarian Serpine from trying to resurrect the Faceless Ones. A great teen read.
