INTERIOR TRENDS TO WARM UP YOUR HOME
Lifestyle18 May 2017
A few pops of colour coupled with a cosy texture can go a long way to making your home feel like a warm and inviting retreat from the cold. Below are a few of our favourite trends and how easy it can be to inject one or two into your home heading into winter.
1. GOLD, COPPER & BRASS
Draw the eye to something golden.
Create warmth with warm-toned metal and yellow gold highlights. They could be as soft or as subtle as a gold trim on a piece of furniture or as showstopping as a statement mirror.

2. MOODY MAUVE & METALLICS
Sophisticated and a little bit edgy.
If you’re thinking of going grey this winter opt for a rich and inviting shade of mauve. This purpley grey tone adds richness to a space especially when it features in velvety fabrics and thick pile rugs.

3. FUR, LEATHER & FRINGE
Striking with all-white interiors.
Warm caramel-toned leather in sofas and trims are great for giving a neutral space more warmth. Keep things textural and interesting with soft details like a fur throw slung over an armchair or a tasselled rug against a hard floor.

4. RICH REDS AND BURNT ORANGE
Vibrant and eyecatching.
Reds in every shade from maroon to terracotta are making a comeback in cushions, throws and even furniture. A little goes a long way though, so whether you prefer the versatility of a chunky throw or an impactful sofa the places they occupy will instantly feel lifted.

5. WOOD & METAL
For character with an industrial edge.
On its own, metal can feel cold and at times be a little uninspiring but pair it with wood and you have a winning combination. The two elements together draw the eye in a way that feels both modern and interesting, making the perfect conversation starter.
