SPRING | SUMMER-INSPIRED COLOUR COMBOS TO LIVEN UP A BEDROOM

Lifestyle

Spring has not yet sprung but the anticipation of a warmer season can bring about a desire for change. On the home front that could mean a clear out or freshen up and what better place to start than with the bedrooms. One of the simplest ways to liven up a bedroom is with a change of colour palette so if it's a sanctuary you're looking for or a tropical oasis, here are 4 colour combos/themes to welcome in the warmer seasons.

1. TROPICAL SUNSET

Oversized palm fronds and tropical flora prints are the perfect way to create the ultimate at-home getaway.  We love the idea of toning the boldness of a leafy print back with black accessories then adding a pop of punchy colour to finish. Sunset orange would be our pick!

  1. Kenzo duvet by Briscoes| b. Calista Armchair from Nood | c. Artificial Monstera plant in pot from Briscoes | d. Daros floor light by Lighting Direct

2. BOHEMIAN MINIMAL

Earthy neutrals and plenty of texture. This is what makes a bohemian-inspired bedroom tick only we like to balance all that texture out with the clean lines of a sculptural stool or side table. Adding in metallic accessories is another way to break up an otherwise neutral palette.

  1. Celia Wall hanging from Freedom Furniture | b. Replica yanagi butterfly stool from Nood | c. KAS Lilet cushion $59.99 from Briscoes | d. Sartori Large Pendant from Lighting Plus | e. Fur ball throw from Nood

3. BLUE BREEZE

A rich nautical blue meets the sophistication and crispness of bright white. This look is part coastal, part metro and incredibly versatile for an inner city apartment or beachside bach. Our favourite find for this look is the standout headboard which ‘anchors’ the bed and adds some much needed wow factor.

  1. Spencer duvet from Briscoes | b. Astrid headboard from Freedom Furniture | c. Kono pendant light from Lighting Plus | d. Sea blue striped cushion from The Importer | e. Rattan dining chair from The Importer

4. RUSTIC RETRO

Time-worn materials and mid century modern classics combine to create a palette that is altogether soft and understated while being fresh and magnetic. While we’ve limited the colour palette to taupe, black and gold this would also be the perfect place to inject a mustard throw, green rug or orange side table.

  1. Jeanne II art print from Freedom Furniture | b. The Tobago bed from The Bed Shop | c. Esteban ceiling pendant from Freedom Furniture | d. Elijah beanbag from Bed Bath & Beyond | e. Kimi throw from Nood
